Course Duration & Assessment
The training and assessment typically consists of a one day (6+ hour) course leading to the full award.
There is no test at the end of this course as skills and knowledge for this qualification are assessed continuously by tutor observation of ‘real-life’ skills which have been benchmarked to National Occupational Standards.
This certificate has a valid ‘license to practice’ lifetime of three years. Certificate renewal is by completion of another Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.

Roles and Responsibilities of the first aider
Minimising risk in an emergency situation
Accident Procedure
Safe Airway Positions
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Safe use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs)
First aid for Choking
Treatment for bleeding and shock
Appropriate First Aid Kit Use
Completing accident forms
